My name is Robert J. Barnaby, though most of you know me simply as Bob. I am proud to announce my candidacy for Spencer Township Trustee this November.
I’ve been a resident of Spencer Township for 28 years. My
wife and I made the decision to build our home here in
1997, where we raised our three wonderful children. Today,
they are not only successful in their own right but also
contribute to the community through our family-owned
and operated businesses, businesses that provide more
than 15 local jobs right here in Spencer Township.
Our companies, City Tree, Barnaby’s Landscape,
Barnaby’s Contracting, and Barnaby’s Equipment &
Fabrication, represent a legacy of hard work, community
investment, and long-term commitment to this township.
Beyond business, I have always believed in giving back. I served on the Spencer Fire Department for over 18 years, including 10 years in a leadership role as Captain. I’ve also contributed 15+ years as a member of the Spencer Township Board of Zoning Appeals, helping to shape decisions that impact all of us.
Through these experiences, I’ve gained a deep understanding of our community’s needs, challenges, and opportunities. I’ve learned the importance of listening first, acting fairly, and leading with transparency, honesty, and respect. I am committed to bringing these same principles to the role of Township Trustee.
If elected, I will bring a “Spencer First” approach to every decision I make, putting the interests of our residents and the future of our township at the forefront. My priorities will focus on:
• Responsible budget management
• Long-term planning for a self-sustaining township
• Supporting local businesses and job growth
• Maintaining and improving infrastructure and public safety
• Protecting the small-town values we all cherish
Spencer Township is not just where I live, it’s where I’ve built my life, my family, and my future. With your trust and support, I hope to continue serving this community and help guide it toward a strong, stable, and prosperous tomorrow.
